With the aid of a vacuum sealer, you can extend the shelf life of your Mylar bag products by vacuum sealing them to eliminate air, moisture and oxidation.
To vacuum seal your Mylar bags:
1) fill the bag until you reach a gap at the top (of roughly 1 inch);
2) insert the bag's open edge into your vacuum sealer;
3) suck out the air by turning your vacuum sealer on;
4) immediately heat seal the bag once all the air has been removed. If using thicker Mylar bags, we recommend using a dedicated heat sealing tool. Using such a tool provides a stronger, longer-lasting vacuum seal than a standard unit alone.
The thickness of the Mylar bag you use must be designed for vacuum sealing. If the Mylar bag is too thin or made of low-quality material, it will not seal evenly and will likely break down over time.
